Feces Found In Baptismal Font At Edgewater Church Probed As Possible Bias Incident, Police Say | Wyckoff-Franklin Lakes Daily Voice

Edgewater police are investigating a disturbing act of vandalism at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church after fecal matter was discovered in the baptismal font, authorities said.

Officers responded to the church at 365 Undercliff Ave. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at approximately 5:50 p.m. after receiving a report about the incident, Chief Donald A. Martin said.

Church staff had already cleaned the font before police arrived, Martin said. Authorities are investigating the act as a possible bias incident and are working closely with the church and community to prevent future occurrences.
